the why

First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to take a look around and checking this thing called “CrossFit” out. A super quick background for you:

I grew up in the Brainerd Lakes Area, then left for school, found a wife, and when it was time to start a family, I came back. We have been back since 2010 and now have 4 beautiful children. We are Star Wars needs and love games. I have always been active, mostly with hockey and golf, but that was slowing down a lot. 6 years ago, I was asked to come try my first CrossFit Class. I have been hooked ever since then. It wasn’t even the workouts or anything like that. It was the people. I was brought in and felt like part of a family on day 1. I got my Level 1 Certificate to coach in 2016. When the opportunity to take over the box came up, I couldn’t say no. That was in 2019. Now here we are, 16 months into it, 3 months of shut downs later, and it has been one of the best decisions of my life.

I have struggled with mental illness, namely anxiety and depression, for nearly my whole life. I am in a good place now, but a large reason why I am able to say that is because of CrossFit Grow. The workouts help and the people help more. The doctors have helped throughout the year as well. There is much thanks to them as well. CrossFit is just a piece of my mental health regimen. If you struggle too, you are not alone. I’m here with ya!

Alright, no more rambling. I believe full heartedly that CrossFit Grow is in my life because God wants to use it for His glory. I will do everything to stay out of His way and allow Him to use me and the box as His vessel. We value kindness, helpfulness, cheerfulness, truth, excellence, gratitude, and love. Through these values, we aim to help our neighbors achieve a positive, healthy lifestyle while living the Gospel. (This is where I would normally add the quote, “This is the way” but I won’t)

I am an open book and would love to have a conversation over a cup of coffee(another passion) so I can get to know you more. Thank you again for stopping by. God Bless!
